Payment methods for online selling in Morocco

The payment method a buyer chooses has a direct impact on how a seller needs to organize their online selling in Morocco. Two methods clearly dominate: cash on delivery and card payment.

Cash on delivery, still very common

Many buyers in Morocco prefer to pay in cash when the parcel arrives, out of habit and trust in a payment they see happen in person. For a seller managing this alone, that means trusting the carrier to collect the money and pass it on correctly.

Card payment, growing

Online card payment avoids that collection risk, but requires setting up a secure payment solution, with the anti-fraud checks that come with it — a technical step few independent sellers want to manage themselves.

What changes when selling on a marketplace
